In a significant initiative, 13 teens from the Boys & Girls Clubs of Elkhart County traveled to the Indiana Statehouse to engage in advocacy. This trip provided them with the opportunity to develop essential self-advocacy skills related to the programs they are passionate about.

Upon arrival, the teens met with Indiana State Representative Joanna King and U.S. Representative Rudy Yakym. This direct interaction allowed them to articulate their views on critical issues, particularly the importance of after-school programming, which plays a vital role in their development and well-being.
