Working With Kids Makes A Big Difference

Teachers are often the unsung heroes in our kids lives. They spend countless hours in the classroom working with kids to develop the skills they’ll need later in life.

That’s why Boys & Girls Clubs of Elkhart County is recognizing them during National Teacher Appreciation Week.

We’re fortunate to have a talented team of Youth Development Professionals who have a similar drive to inspire and empower the young people in our Clubs. They work with our members in our education, athletic and games rooms at our Clubs in Goshen, Elkhart, Nappanee, Middlebury and various KidsCare sites.

Youth Development Professional Grace Hostetler works with Zavier at our Nappanee Club!

21st Century Tutor Tracy Washington works with Jayden at our Elkhart Club!

A recent survey of Boys & Girls Clubs members nationwide shows that 97 percent of Club teens expect to graduate from high school and 80 percent submitted an application for post-secondary education.

And the benefits of Club don’t stop there. 76 percent of members ages 12 to 18 who attend Club regularly reported receiving mostly As and Bs.
