In a world full of potential, a single moment, individual, or act of kindness can make all the difference in a child’s life. This sentiment lies at the core of the inspiring new campaign initiated by the Boys & Girls Clubs of Elkhart County – ‘All It Takes is One’.

Imagine a scenario where a mentor, experience, or opportunity has the power to alter the trajectory of a child’s future. At the Boys & Girls Clubs of Elkhart County, we are dedicated to nurturing a safe environment where children can uncover their potential, cultivate leadership skills, and create promising pathways for our local youth. The ‘All It Takes is One’ campaign epitomizes our commitment to instilling hope and shaping a brighter tomorrow for our community.

Our President & CEO at Boys & Girls Clubs of Elkhart County, Tami Hicks had the privilege of being on Hometown Living with one of our community partners, Bill’s Collision, to debut this campaign and speak more about upcoming opportunities to get involved for the community.

Running from October to December 2024, the campaign features the installation of life-sized Blue Doors at various businesses across Elkhart County. These symbolic doors serve as gateways to hope and opportunity for the youths who walk through the doors of the Boys & Girls Clubs. By scanning the QR code on these doors, community members can embark on a virtual tour, extend their support through donations, and champion the cause.

One noteworthy local business actively participating in Middlebury is none other than Bill’s Collision. Throughout October, November, and December, the Middlebury office will house a blue door, encouraging community members to visit, take a selfie, and contribute to a winter-wear drive aimed at supporting local children during the colder months. Bill’s Collision truly understands the significance of providing warmth and solace to the local youth when temperatures plummet.

According to Tami Hicks, President & CEO of Boys & Girls Clubs of Elkhart County, “All it takes is one person, one donation, or one moment to transform a child’s life. With the backing of our partners and donors, we can equip our young individuals with the necessary resources to flourish and succeed.”

In the subsequent months, the campaign will be marked by a series of captivating events designed to raise awareness and funds for the Boys & Girls Clubs. From ‘Gives Back Nights’ at local restaurants to a ‘Day of Giving’ at a popular coffee shop, there are myriad opportunities for community members to demonstrate their support and make a tangible impact. Upcoming events include:

• October 7: Hacienda Gives Back Night in Goshen
• October 22: Scooter’s Coffee Day of Giving in Nappanee
• November 9: Hacienda Gives Back Night in Elkhart
• October – December: Winter-Wear Drive at Bill’s Collision in Middlebury

“We invite you to join us in this movement to create brighter futures for the children within our community,” urges Hicks. “Together, we can effect substantial change, one child at a time.”
