The Boys & Girls Clubs of Elkhart County (BGCEC ) recently wrapped up supporting the 4th Annual Event, and it was an absolute fiesta! The lively celebration drew a crowd of hundreds from the region who came together to honor language, culture, music, food, and traditions. This year, the spotlight shone brightly on the vibrant and rich tapestry of Hispanic heritage, bringing people of all backgrounds together in a spirit of inclusivity and unity.

At the heart of BGC’s mission lies a deep commitment to serving all members of the community, including kids and families who cherish and celebrate their Hispanic roots. The event, held at a venue that buzzed with energy and laughter, was a true testament to the power of diversity and the beauty of cultural exchange.

“We are proud to provide a welcoming and safe space for all kids in our community,” said Launa Leftwich, Senior Director of Strategic Partnerships at BGCEC. “Our goal is to create a space where kids can engage in activities that support learning, character development, leadership skills, and healthy lifestyles. We want to ensure that every teen who walks through our doors is equipped with the tools and values needed to thrive in college, serve their communities, or enter the workforce upon graduation.”

One of the highlights at Club is seeing teens participate in activities that emphasize the importance of personal brand, which reflects the culture and the values they hold dear. Through the core principles of Respect, Integrity, Self-Discipline, Empathy, and Responsibility, teens at the Club were encouraged to embrace their identities, honor their heritage, and embody the qualities that define them as individuals with limitless potential.
