The Boys & Girls Clubs of Elkhart County stands tall as a beacon of hope, empowerment, and transformation for the youth in our community, and this commitment to creating a positive impact recently earned us the prestigious Community Catalyst Award—an accolade that recognizes excellence in driving meaningful change and fostering a brighter future for our young members.

The journey to this remarkable achievement was paved with dedication, strategic vision, and unwavering commitment, all orchestrated by the exceptional Grants Team of Boys & Girls Clubs of Elkhart County. The dynamic quartet comprising Grant Procurement & Program Outcome Manager Cristina Rheinheimer, Grants Procurement & Development Coordinator Mandy Miller, Senior Director of Strategic Partnerships Launa Leftwich, and the visionary CEO/President Dr. Tami Hicks collaborated seamlessly with the BGCA Government Relations Club Services team, laying the groundwork for a powerful advocacy campaign that would amplify our impact and reach within the community.

Central to this transformative advocacy plan was a strategic framework of engaging local school boards and government officials, forging partnerships, and amplifying our voice to secure essential resources and funding vital for our programs. Thanks to the tireless efforts and strategic foresight of our dedicated team, Boys & Girls Clubs of Elkhart County successfully accessed Community Development Block Grant funding in key municipalities like Goshen, Elkhart, and Nappanee, fortifying our mission to provide crucial support and resources to the youth in need.

Moreover, our Clubs’ relentless pursuit of excellence saw us navigate through the intricacies of securing and maintaining the 21st Century Community Learning Center Federal grant funding, enabling us to expand our footprint and establish school-based KidsCare sites that offer a safe haven and enriching experiences for our young members.

Fueled by a tireless pursuit of excellence and a commitment to holistic well-being, Boys & Girls Clubs of Elkhart County has also spearheaded critical initiatives in teen mental health programming, recognizing the vital importance of nurturing the emotional and psychological well-being of our youth. Through strategic collaborations and the establishment of a robust community-wide care system, we have championed mental health awareness and support, empowering our teens to navigate life’s challenges with resilience, courage, and hope.

As we bask in the glow of this remarkable recognition, we extend our deepest gratitude to our dedicated team, supporters, partners, and the entire community for standing with us on this transformative journey. The Community Catalyst Award is not just a symbol of our past achievements but a testament to our unwavering commitment to driving positive change, fostering resilience, and nurturing the dreams of our youth.

Together, we celebrate the Boys & Girls Clubs of Elkhart County as a beacon of hope, a catalyst for change, and a testament to the transformative power of community, collaboration, and unwavering dedication to the youth who will shape our tomorrow. Let’s continue to champion change, inspire hope, and empower the future leaders of our community. Together, we can make a difference that resonates for generations to come!
