Please join us in congratulating Boys & Girls Clubs of Elkhart County’s Nappanee Area Director, Mandy Gerber, on being named Boys & Girls Clubs Most Valuable Professional for the State of Indiana. Ms. Gerber has been with BGCEC for 16 years and is dedicated to her Club and its mission to inspire and empower all young people. In 2019, Mandy helped oversee a $4.67 million capital campaign to build Nappanee’s brand-new Clubhouse.
It is my honor to be named Indiana Boys & Girls Clubs’ Most Valuable Professional. Throughout my 16 year career, there have been many highs and a few lows, but one thing has remained the same: Children need Boys & Girls Clubs. No matter their social or economic status, children need a safe and fun place to learn and grow. Boys & Girls Clubs provide that place and so much more. Team members work hard to create an environment of hope and opportunity for all of our children. I’m indeed blessed to be on this journey and making an impact on the community I love through Boys & Girls Club. – Mandy
Ms. Gerber works closely with her staff to ensure the Club is a fun and safe place for all members. Creative and engaging programs leave members excited for the next program or activity, monthly Family Nights give family members a chance to come in an experience the Club while they play, grow, and strengthen their relationships. The team works diligently each month to create a fun evening for everyone involved. She oversees the daily operations of the Club and is an invested member of the Nappanee community. As a Nappanee native, she knows her community inside and out and is appreciated by many.
When asked what they admire most about Ms. Gerber, the resounding reply from Club staff was that no matter how busy she is she always makes time to interact with Club members and call them by name. This small act means a lot to all members, and they light up when they see her.
