For our children, the holiday season is one of excitement. In the year of a pandemic, it was very important for our members to experience our holiday traditions! Our members enjoyed our Christmas parties in the Pods sponsored by Interra. Members also participated in various Christmas activities including cookie decorating! Members were able to shop for Christmas gifts for their families at very low costs at our annual Santa's Workshop. Our members were blessed by generous donors. Twelve families were adopted and provided gifts for Christmas. Every Club family received a blanket. Twenty-eight families were blessed with gift cards. We are very thankful to our donors who support our mission and allow us to create memories with our Club members!
Program Highlight - Chippey the Club Elf
One holiday tradition that our children, parents, and team members look forward to every season is the arrival of Chippey, our very own Elf on the Shelf. Chippey arrived from the North Pole right after Thanksgiving. He had to quarantine for a couple of days! He got into a little mischief by wrapping toilet paper all around our Christmas tree. He hit the wrong button on the remote and got stuck in the Front Counter TV. He got taped to the wall by the action figures from the Gamesroom. Each day was a new adventure. Our Club members couldn't wait to get to the Front Counter to see what he was doing for the day. Our Club parents also enjoyed this! This is the 7th year for this Nappanee tradition and we're already looking forward to his arrival in 2021!
Teamwork Makes the Holiday Dream Work
The Nappanee Team truly does Whatever It Takes to ensure our Club members are enjoying their time while at the Club. Even with our COVID restrictions, our team put some creative energy into the planning of our traditional Christmas programming. With modifications being made, the team still put together great holiday parties and activities to make sure our Club members were in the Christmas spirit!
