Nappanee Club Member Shares Kindness

Sometimes actions speak louder than words.

Most parents hope their children show kindness and compassion to others. But a fifth grader at the Boys & Girls Club in Nappanee put that into action.

Aiden recently told a team member that his class at school had an auction and he was able to buy a book with his reward earnings.

The book was about extreme weather. Aiden said he bought that book because fellow Club member Thomas loves weather and storms and he wanted to offer the book to him.

Team member Tammy commended Aiden for his selfless act and told him Thomas would love the gift. When Aidan sat beside Thomas and told him about the book, Thomas immediately started looking at it – and asked if he could take it home.

Aidan told him it was his to keep. When Tammy told Thomas to make sure he thanked Aidan, Thomas said he had because Aidan is his friend and “That’s what you do for friends.”
