Teen members at all four Boys & Girls Clubs of Elkhart County locations spent time over spring break travelling to different colleges. Among the stops were Goshen College, Bethel University in Mishawaka and Indiana State University in Terre Haute.
Teens were able to tour the campuses and learn more about what will be required if they want to apply for higher education. While touring the Indiana State University campus, Elkhart teens had the chance to eat in the student commons and got first-hand explanations of what college life is like from ISU Alumni and Elkhart Club Area Director Whitney Miller.

“We want to expose our members to as many opportunities as we can,” said Chief Operations Officer Launa Leftwich. “Providing them opportunities to explore the options available to them after graduation is important as they work to develop their plans.”
Club programs prepare young people for success through career exploration, helping them develop skills and a plan after high school for college, service or the workforce. Keystone Club, Torch Club and Youth of the Year programs also help focus on career preparation and community service.
