You’re never to young to get involved in your community. That’s what young people at the Boys & Girls Clubs of Elkhart County’s Goshen Club are learning.
The Chamberlain Neighborhood Association in Goshen needed help getting ready for a celebration event. Boys & Girls Club members who attend Chamberlain Elementary School were able to help by preparing the gardens to be planted.

They got hands-on experience using a shovel to dig a BIG hole to plant a new tree. They were encouraged to learn about the processes by asking questions.
Part of fostering connection and belonging is giving and receiving support. Club members value the sense of being needed and helpful.
Programs at the Boys & Girls Clubs help members achieve academic success, healthy lifestyles and character development. We encourage our members to help around the Club because it allows us to accomplish more, but it also provides a sense of belonging and connection.
Club members are happy to belong to the neighborhood and be a positive influence on those around us.
