Stimulating the minds and the taste buds. That’s what kids at our Middlebury Club were doing during the recent spring break.
They kept the learning going during the break from school by taking part in STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math) activities. To expand their skills in these areas, they collected fingerprints from “crime” scenes, decoded secret messages, invented a board game, made edible slime, had a paper airplane competition and participated in an escape room. They also invented their own ice cream flavor.
To celebrate, the members took their first field trip in more than a year. They walked 4.6 miles to get ice cream on National Walking Day. They calculated that was the equivalent of almost 12,000 steps.
Inspiring and empowering kids to reach their full potential is what Boys & Girls Clubs of Elkhart County is all about!
