According to the 2018 BGCA youth outcome data and the 2015 National Survey on Drug Use and Health data, an impressive 76% of low-income Club members ages 12-18 reported earning mostly As and Bs, exceeding the 67% achieved by their peers nationally. This statistic underscores the impact of our programs in nurturing academic success and excellence among the youth.
Creativity and self-expression are crucial components of our commitment to holistic youth development. Our arts programs serve as a catalyst for young individuals to unleash their creativity and provide outlets for meaningful self-expression. Through these programs, we empower our members to develop essential skills and discover their unique talents, fostering a sense of purpose and fulfillment.
The positive influence of arts programs extends beyond individual expression, serving as a gateway to increased club participation. Students who engage in our arts programs are more likely to actively participate in the club as a whole, benefitting from the diverse opportunities and resources we offer to promote well-rounded development.
Notably, participation in arts programs has been linked to the improved social and emotional skills of our members. Through creative exploration and collaboration, our youth demonstrate enhanced abilities in communication, empathy, and interpersonal relationships, essential attributes for success both in and outside of academia.
